Managed to express - quick question though!!!
Im having ny hair cut this afternoon, and Corey must be having growth spurt cos he is on and off all the time! So I was a bit worried about being away for an hour, so i have tried pumping this morning while he was feeding (After reading through the posts in this section for tips ).
Any way, ive managed 2 ounces, which i thought was quite good for a first go! I dont really want to give him ebm, but i just wanted some on hand in case he gets really narky for Dave while im out later!
My question is, If i express a bit more later, can i add it to this 2 ounces i have already expressed, or do i store it seperate?
If they are to be stored seperate, can they be added together at heating time?
I have read the tips on storage and heating etc, so i know not to microwave or shake.

Re: Managed to express - quick question though!!!
well im not an expert on expressing and this time is the first time ive done it sucessfully, but from my experience 2oz is great! when i express i always store diferent times seperately but i believe its possible to mix the milks to feed. however if youre worried put them in seperate bottles and feed as needed. good luck :boob:

I would store in separate bags/bottles- you will not waste to much if he will only have sip or two from bottle, and if he would want more- you can always defrost/ heat up some more.
2 oz should be plenty- my tip is to feed before you leave home; sometimes i would feed with my handbag and shoes on! "Rule " says 1 oz per hour so 2 oz should do an hour, etc.

Re: Managed to express - quick question though!!!
I just pumped the 2 ounces, which he had while i was out - Dave said he demolished it! I was going on the 1 ounce per hour - greedy so-and-so!
He went straight back on breast when i got in - which was my concern with nipple confusion.
I got some storage bags while i was out so i can build a bit up if i need to!

Great!
Tip: store them flat in freezer; I like old margarine tubs; pile milk up one on top another; tubs give extra protection from frost bite and other frozen items.
