should i carry on donating?
I am only managing to express an ounce or 2 a day, and thats over 24 hours. I pump and pump and its just dribbles, and then nothing.
I just got a new electric pump, thinking it could be my old one playing up, and im still the same.
I know the more i pump the more i should make, but i dont. and i eat plenty of oats etc too lol!
I know Corey gets plenty - im making what i need for him - which i know is the priority.
When the lady came last time to collect - i got the feeling she was disappointed cos there wasnt loads
Im pumping 3 times a day roughly, and i try to do it when corey is feeding, tho this is getting harder now as he pulls it off or kicks it. Any more is difficult with the kids, and everything else i have to fit into my day.
any advice? :help:

Re: should i carry on donating?
I never managed to express much at all either.
It's wonderful that you have donated already and still trying :aww:
I'm sure they are happy with every drop but if you felt uncomfortable, have a word with her when she next comes :aww:

I think the campaign is 'every drop counts' so dont worry that you hardly get any milk hun. :aww:
I am the same though - i used to be able to express 4oz from my right boob a couple of months ago within 5 mins (never been able to get much from left one). And now i'm lucky if i get 1 oz in half hour! Its doing my head in because of my operation next friday - i've expressed some but not enough at all

Re: should i carry on donating?
Kay, some mums find that routine works. Find one time of the say, lets say 9pm, one place to pump- I loved sit next to electricity socket in kitchen, and do pump every day without miss. Its a bit like bed time routine, boobs need to get used to it. Breast compressions and other pupming tips: http://www.kellymom.com/newman/27expressing_milk.html
EVERYBODY: rememebr not to pump more than 20 min per boob at one session, as longer will damage breast.
Aswell some mums just can't pupm whatever they do and try.

Re: should i carry on donating?
Similar to my pumping ability or inability. Nothing but dribbels. A tablespoon if I'm lucky. Always worried about DS not havong anything to eat if I were suddenly "gone". Know what I mean.
But every drop does count and you are doing a great job.
