crying when pooing
We've had Daisy on her changing mat for about 20-30 minutes, she keeps poo'ing and every time some comes out shes really crying, screaming even. The last time she went before today we think was Saturday. At first it was quite hard, but the last bit was runny. I *think* she might have stopped now.
Any ideas what's causing it? Just a bit of constipation do you think?

Re: crying when pooing
Tonight she has just had a little bit of fish (not much), erm... I gave her some peach slices and Shane gave her some apple.
She's rolling around the floor talking to us now so I think she's better, was realy horrble though watching her in pain! :iconsad:

Peach and apple are "binding" food, could be little constipation.

She hasn't had banana today but she did yesterday. Should I avoid these for a while or carrying on giving them to her?

Re: crying when pooing
they are ok in moderation, but i would hold off for a couple of days and see how she gets on.
maybe reintroduce one at a time over a few days and see how she gets on?

Re: crying when pooing
What is her poo like? As you know Cally has been crying when she poos but I think its because the poo ismore "formed" rather then she is constipated. This was proven the other night when she had her nappy off (I never learn) and started grunting and then pooed. It was like a long snake (ewww) and didn't seem to stop lol but it wasn't hard, she wasn't struggling to pass it (sadly for my rug) yet she was still crying. I *think* she just doesn'tlike the feelof it and is usedto booby milk poo.

When Daisy's been crying as she's poo'd, she's been lying on her mat and we clear it up as she does it, both times it's been 'formed' I also think she might just not like the feel of it after having bf poo. She seems fine otherwise, it just seems to be uncomfortable when she poo's.
I went shopping yesterday but couldn't find any prune juice so I got some orange juice. She had some of that last night and some stewed apple, so hopefully that might make it a bit easier.
Also, I've tried to give Daisy a drink before in her tommee tippee cup with the handles on the side that you have to suck, but she cant seem to get any out as she doesnt lift it enough, anyway, Shane gave it to her in a bottle last night and helped her with it and she got some out. Do you think its ok to give it to her in a bottle? Or should I perservere with the handled cup?

Re: crying when pooing
We've had a cup with straw for M she never worked out how to tip.
I think you should carry on as you do, you maybe could givine Daisy some probiotics for kids? I know it always does job for my kids and of she still seems to be unhappy when pooping maybe speaking with HV or doc- even over the phone would be a good idea.

Re: crying when pooing
It's happened again yesterday and just Yesterday she wouldn't settle afterwards and was screaming, Daisy isn't normally like that. She was clean and wouldn't feed so in the end I put her in a sling and she went to sleep.
It's happened just and now she's having some squash and seems fine.
I don't often give her a drink, do you think I should start giving her a couple a day? I've been a little concerned lately as I've noticed a drop in her feeds, but I dont think she's taking enough solids to warrant a drop in :boob: .
