hey YEY other bf mums!!!!

hey wish i had found this forum before!! been bf for 5 mnths but feeling really isolated all my other friends are bottle feeding and think im mad bf! even my mum is trying to discourage me!:iconsad:
loving bf! and would love to keep on doing it for at least a year! although a whole nights sleep would be nice as my bottle fed friends keep bragging about :iconsad:

Its hard when you haven't got support from close family and people around you are bottle feeding but it can be done. Non of my friends are bfing and my husband thinks i'm mad..........lol

I'm Gem, mum to Ben, 3 and Daisy, 8.5 months. I was the same as you, none of my friends had breastfed and I had no-one to talk to about it, then I found this site and also found out about baby cafe and now I can say breastfeeding is definately the 'norm' to me and my family!

I Breastfed for just over 13 months, I hardley knew anyone who breastfed, one of the reasons I started this forum!

Don't worry so much about the sleeping thing. Most mothers report broken nights around the 9 month age even if their ff baby had slept through perfectly before. There is a huge developmental leap then so its only the calm before the storm

I don't have any support around me either and this forum has been wonderful... :bighug: I've found loads more support here for my bf'ing woes than other past forums.

That sounds like what i was like - i still havent met up with any real life breastfeeding mums, all my friends bottlefeed!

OMG I hear ya! I am soooooooo happy I've found this forum - I've been a member of a forum before that 'claimed' to be pro-choice when it came to feeding when they were clearly not pro BFing as they mobbed BFing Mum's if they dared to say how they felt - so I left them to it!

Dont listen to the sweeping generalisations made about BFing AND FFing. I know plenty of FFd babies who are having their Mum's up waaaaay more than my :boob: baby. I think its just yet another thing that FFers say to justify their choice as being better than BFing Babies are all individuals regardless of their feeding - I'm sure your baby is sleeping as well as most babies of their age :aww:
