Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Hi ladies!
I am Cat and I have a 4 month old son called Oliver. He is the cutest thing in the world! We 100% breastfeed :boob: and thoroughly enjoy it. I'm starting to worry now, that the 6 month mark is coming up and weaning is going to have to be thought about. Perhaps if I just ignore it, it'll go away?!!!
Anyway, it's great to join you all and I hope I have a long and happy stay here!flower

Welcome Cat Very Happy

Well some little ones don't start food until much later than 6 months anyway. As long as weight etc is good there would be no reason to rush.

Take the blw approach you can't go wrong then :aww:

Baby led weaning-

Baby led weaning is forgetting purees and going straight to solids.

Basicly when your child is interested in food, you give them abit to hold and let them experiment with it on their own.

Lots of ladies have done it on here.

We have a section dedicated to it

hello & welcome

Please dont think that when you get to the magical 6month mark baby HAS to wean, some do & some like to carry on just as before. Emily is 14 months and is a bobbie monster still & prefers little snacks rather than full on meals. They are all different so do follow how baby likes to do things.

Have a look about & please add your experience, views & pics (of course)

👋 Cat!

we are BLW too - and like Tash said, there were no fireworks at 6 months - he just started to experiment. Corey has just turned 1, and eats well - but still has booby as his main foods (his choice!)
I thoroughly recommend it - it seems to go hand in hand with breastfeeding.
Its also so much easier out and about, just like breastfeeding. Corey ust eats whatever we are, where ever we are - no warming up jars or anything! Very Happy
