My pre-TTC and TTC blog - updated page 8!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought i would start meself a little thread, even if its only for my own benefit!

In the past, i have just gone with flow, and its been a case 'OMG im pregnant!'

This time i am planning TTC, and preparing my body, getting to know my cycle etc.

As you know, I would love a girl, but I want to stress I would be elated with another boy (means i get to try again! ), so i am having a go at 'gender swaying' this time - ie following as much as possible (old wives tales and proven methods) to TTC a girl, hence why i am planning TTC, not diving straight into bed lol!

I have ordered Shettles book off Ebay, which is apparantly the most tried and tested means of gender swaying, so we will see!

If any one has any hints or tips, or advice on anything to do with learning about my cycle (im currenty learning about lovely sticky cervical mucus!) it would be gratefully received!

I concieved before ovulation and got a girl and around the time of ovulation and got a boy - don't know if this helps at all. Wishing I'd had two of the same now and I could have another go!!

I am trying the sex ban now - there is no point practising if there is never a main event.

When I worked the dates back, all 3 boys were conceived on or just after ovulation, which is basically Shettles theory.
I need to know my cycle now to make sure i dont use contraception 2-4 days before ovulation!

That makes sense for my conceptions then!

I used this theory. At first I thought it hadn't worked as I was told I was having a boy, but it obviously did because I ended up with lil miss I also used the Chinese calendar too (cover all your bases )

Apprently also its down to vaginal conditions, the cm plays a big factor.

If you have acidic (which it usualy is abit more so before ov) then the female sperm can survive it. Male sperm dont do so well in it which is why they say do it around ov when your cm is usualy thinner and a higher ph.

Get some universal ph strips off ebay and test your cm leading upto ov and on ov day.

You will definatly need to chart to do the shettlers method.

Also some women are very alkaline even near ov so often change their diet to make them more acidic.

I did try to sway when ttc this little one, but I gave up on charting and just wanted to be pg again.

Next time I wil have another go

I have just received my ovulation tests, pg tests, basal thermometre and ph strips
i have the cm charts, temp charts etc
Just waiting for the witch to arrive now so i can start putting it all into place!

Im really enjoying the book - learning so much about my body! Its got all about the body conditions in it Tash. I already take a calcium magnesium supplement too, and they recommend an increase in this in your diet if TTC a girl.

One thing it does say in the book is that this method doesnt work while bf, as your cycles are not 'true'. Not sure if this still applies for extended bf? But i dont mind - i want to spend the next few cycles getting used to taking temps, cm and charting etc. Im sure my cycle is regular, i guess we will wait and see!

Yes you will see quite ckearly your ovulation trend with a bbt taking your temp, I suggest its taken vaginaly tho as its much more accurate.

I want to try and learn more aout that - i tried finding my cervix when i was pg, but apparantly mine is tilted back, and quite high (dont even go there on the positions i was getting into lol!)

i carnt wait to see how you find this method and how easy it is to use at least by you getting :preg: first i will know more about the method so will be gratefull for your advice, where do you get every thing you need from like the charts etc please? xx

the book has loads of charts in, and i have signed up to fertility friend on the net which is good - tho i havent had chance to sit and read all the emails yet! :iconredface:
I am also in contact with a lady who has 4 boys and is following things to the extreme (like everything imaginable ) to get a girl - so i will see how she gets on too!
