sore nipples 2nd time round? Empty sore nipples 2nd time round?

Hi, I've just been looking at the list of things to buy I had for Rhianna and its got nipple cream. I didn't get sore nipples as I had to use nipple shields to get her to latch on, but I really hope not to do that this time round. Just wondering if it's as common to have cracked or sore nipples 2nd time round, especially if I'm still b'feeding Rhianna?

They could become sensitive with a newborn due to the struggles some have when learning to breastfeed so its possible, i would get some lanisinoh in just incase sore nipples 2nd time round? Icon_biggrin

I was thinking of making my own with some bees wax, Calendula and camomile. Probably wont get round to it, but I like the idea. Cheers, I'll put it on my wish list.

i cant comment on the 2nd time round, but Lansinoh was my life saver!
My HV gave me a load of free samples, sachet style, and they go a long way! might be worth asking, to save buying a tube sore nipples 2nd time round? Icon_wink

Mine hurt less this time around, but there was a period of time when they did hurt. Tia was an avid breastfeeder as she weighed in at 8lb9 and never dropped an oz.... Lil miss was less agressive, but those first two weeks were a bit tender... With Tia it felt like someone was trying to rip my nipples off.

The lanoish did just fine for me Smile

Less soreness but I did use Lansinoh - the hospital gave me lots of sachets but I had to ask for them.

I had sore nipples second time around. I don't know if it is just my poor memory but I think it lasted longer. However I didn't go through a period where I couldn't feed from 1 breast which I did first time around (caused by initial poor positioning / latch) as I knew what I was doing this time around.
