Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Yesterday Brody had a sickness bug now Colby has started with it. He cant keep anything down and even retching when his tummy is empty. Sickness bug Icon_sad

Should I still offer him as much milk? As soon as he had been sick he wanted milk, then brought it all back up mid-feed Sickness bug Icon_pale

keep him on the milk hun - as often as he wants it, give it!
It is better than plain water as it has the calories in it and your antibodies.
even if he is bringing it back up, if some is staying down its better than nothing.

Keep an eye on his nappies to check for how wet they are.

when corey had it a few weeks back, we resorted to dripping water (had stopped BF) into his mouth when he was asleep on Dave!

Hopefully its just a 24 hour one, but if it goes on any longer, go see the GP hun xxx

Well he feel asleep before I gave him any milk. That is just crazy because he NEVER falls asleep without milk! I am expressing because I'm filling up! He has been having loads the last few days.
Maybe I could just give him sips of the expressed milk instead of him having a full feed all in one go. Would that be just as good?

Eeek no wonder you worried. I panic a bit as I have always had a sickness phobia. Luckily it isn't as bad as it was and I have coped pretty well thank God. I am so pleased Kev is home though!

That is so strange...this has only just popped up in my search of new posts today. Sad

I hope you are doing OK jools...and that you are feeling better. In anything like that, the important thing is to keep pushing fluids if they want them, especially breastmilk as it contains a lot of antibodies to help fight stomach infections Smile
