angs birth story (in detail!)

ive already tried to write this once today!! i had my sweep on mon and was expecting to be waiting to be induced but while we were out shopping on tues i started t get pains more like back ache than anything but on the way home i had a definate contraction this was lunch time, by tea time i was stil contracting but erratically some were 8mins apart some 4 and then i was waiting for 20-25 mins! at about 7.30 dave persuaded me to phone the ward, they said i should go in to be monitored, i was back home by 10.30pm nothing had changed. i went to bed and had a few more contractions- not much sleep and around 2am i had a really painful one then they started to come every 8 mins, for an hour or so i pottered back and forward to the toilet and back to bed expecting them to stop again! i eventually realised oh hang on this could be it!! i woke dave and we set off it takes about half hour to get there but by half way they were every 3 mins! i took the gas and air gratefully ! i was really tired, think it was about half 4, i asked the mw for a gown and maybe some pethidine i wasnt planning on asking but needed some relief, she did the internal and said i was 9cm and the waters were bulging so she could burst them and get on with it or i could wait for them to go and have pethidine, dave said to get it over with so i agreed to have my waters burst she did it, within minutes i turned over onto my knees and she was on the way, she was born at 5.28 am on the 19th sept, 7lb8oz, i remember complaining my stomach was rumbling cos i was hungry! the mw was great she brought us tea and toast, dave came back home for half 6 to see to aeryn, i stayed on the delivery ward til at least half 7. when i got to the post natal ward it was so busy and loud i wanted to go home, i was back home by about 2. it was so surreal for the rest of the day! oh i meant to say she took to bf really well she chomps and pecks! she fed on and off for all the time we were in delivery suit then slept the rest of the morning! i had a good night sleep last night, she had a few feeds and woke about 4 for a look around! aeryn thinks she is cute and says shes her best friend! the other 3 are smitten too! she is gorgeous!!! weve decided to call her willow!

What a lovely birth story hun, glad it went ok and the :boob: has got off to a great start..

That is a beautiful name.

Sounds like things went well and glad to hear the BF is off to a good start.
