I haz a happy
The girls have been ill over the weekend. First lil miss then T. Lil miss came down with a temp (39ºc+) on the Friday evening and complained of tummy ache and a headache...we waited patiently for the vomiting to start. None came. She spent all of Friday afternoon, evening and night on my booby... then woke up Saturday right as rain. On Saturday evening, they eldest came down with a pain in her chest and a head ache, then the temp followed. She wasn't sick, but this morning she was still ill. High temp, headache etc. So we trundle off to the doctor. Here in Spain, under 16s see a pediatrician, not the GP. I knew our ped was pretty good, but she really is more than that. I commented that the younger one had been ill too and she said I should have brought her along as well to be checked out... I told her that she is all better now, spent the day on her booby and woke up fine the next day... And she turned around and said... "Well just keep breastfeeding her. If as many mothers breastfed their children for as long as you have, I'd probably be out of a job, or at least be able to take more holiday." I've never had a positive breastfeeding experience in Spain before. especially not with regards to extended breastfeeding. I am so glad I never converted to formula despite the other doctors telling me to when she was tiny because my milk was poisoning her by what I was eating, and causing her reflux.

Tell us about yourself : I'm a SAHM to Kacie aged 10.5 months. I'm very into an AP way of life, baby-wearing, co-sleeping, breastfeeding, etc. We're coming up to one year and I'm looking for places where I won't be looked down on for extended breastfeeding. I have no intention of weaning until Kacie wants to. We're also traying to conceive baby no. 2, so really hoping to tandam feed and will be looking for support to do this too.
