Any ideas?
Ben's birthday is at the end of June, he'll be 3. My problem is we are absolutely skint. Hubby has been saying for a while we were going to struggle, but this is ridiculous. :cryyy:
Anyway, we haven't got any money for Bens birthday presents, however, we have got an argos card (which is the devil! The interest is ridiculous) but it looks like we'll have to put his presents on it. He has already got loads of toys and really doesn't need any more, but I thought about buying him one of those beds with the slides coming off. The trouble is, in argos the cheapest one is £189.99! Which is more than we wanted to spend. Does anyone have any ideas of alternative presents or somewhere (alot) cheaper that we could try? God I hate having no money :awno:

Re: Any ideas?
aww :awno: Gem :aww: We are feeling the pinch too :cryyy:
Is he interested in anything particular? Maybe a small presie like a book about something he likes and "adventure" day out, in some kind park or go to swimming pool and lovely home made picknic after that and a little gift?
Did you look at ebay? Maybe something similar goes close to you?

Re: Any ideas?
At his age - he will appreciate anything hun :aww:
Dont overstretch yourself - he will appreciate the day no matter what you do and how much you spend.
I just got new bunkbeds free off Freecycle BTW - might be worth joining your local one, we have had beds, scaelctric and much more for the cost of the petrol to collect it!

I know how your feeling, we are having money problems and its so hard.
I love Katies idea about a day out with a picnic and a little present, maybe something crafty?

Re: Any ideas?
I agree he'll love it what ever you do, perhaps have a little tea party few jam sarnies and a cake. A treasure hunt maybe with cheap little prezzies wrapped up in each of the places.

Re: Any ideas?
We didnt buy james somtehing more than a fiver first 3 years , he had pressies off other people & at that age didnt notice. One year we got him a second hand bike which was £5 at a car bootie & another a set of those big hand held bubble blowers & bottle of bubbles from tesco he loved both. I bet if you got a few £1-2 little toys from Tesco or similar & wrapped them all up & went on a picnic he'd be well happy & probably play with the paper !!!
