How annoying!
I got sent a copy of Practical Parenting and Pregnancy through the post yesterday, I don't know why. I ordered a copy of Juno, as my hv said it had info on attachment parenting that might interest me, anyway, I hope I havent got the wrong mag!
There is an article by Jo Frost - Supernanny (cant stand her) '10 step baby sleep plan'. Which is basically about controlled crying. Step 1, the obvious, a bath. Step 2 'give your baby an 8oz bottle' no alternative! Just 'give 8oz bottle'.
How annoying is that??! I emailed the editor, surprisingly, she is yet to respond. You really would think these people would know better!

Re: How annoying!
isnt it sad that the 'natural' way to feed a baby to many people now is to stick an 8 oz bottle in its mouth.
:boob: all the way for me!

Re: How annoying!
That is awful!
Did anyone watch that 'bringing up baby' programme last year? It followed some families with newborns, some followed gina ford, some Doctor Spock, and some AP (not sure what they called it though?).
Anyway the woman who was guiding the families following Gina Ford said it was best not to :boob: when following that - cos you arents suppose to make feeding cosy for baby and you need to keep them at arms length practically! She was teaching all about controlled crying and stuff. I think its child cruelty myself. How can you let a baby scream so much and not see to them?! I could never do that to Bethany! No way!
The woman who was guiding families through AP was showing them all about co-sleeping, babywearing, and keeping baby close all the time.
The programme was on when i was pregnany and to be honest i thought i would be a parent maybe in between both them parenting methods cos i didnt think i'd co-sleep or baby wear (although i knew 100% i'd :boob: ). But as soon as Bethany was born i've been total AP! And i love it - nothing else will do. I must admit i started bethany in her own room a few week ago but she either lasts an hour before coming in bed with me or is in with me as soon as we go to bed
:aww:
Theres a clip here:

and here one of the women saying how cruel it is to leave baby crying:

i dont see the point in all that crap. How on earth can you enjoy your baby when you have to ignore them, you cant cuddle them, you dont breastfeed?!!!! I dont understand what cruel person would come up with all of that crap!!!!

Re: How annoying!
I watched that last year when it was on & was horrified by that awful woman. How those parents could go along with that way is shocking!
