Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Mums to be charged for formula on maternity wards -

http://www.thebabywebsite.com/article.1678.Mums_To_Pay_For_Hospital_Formula_Milk.htm

I wish this would happen in my local hospital. I think i might write to them to see what they say.

A step in the right direction.

cheers thats brilliant. i remember writing a post ages ago when i found out dewsbury hospital is suppose to be doing this also next year and the money they save being put into breastfeeding help.

There was a bit on that website that really pissed me off : Evil or Very Mad

Councillor Jean Ashworth, who works as a health care assistant at the Infirmary, said: "It is absolutely appalling that mothers will have to pay to feed their babies. What will happen next? Where will it stop? How long is it before they start making patients pay for food? Everyone, the midwives, junior doctors, consultants, are all up in arms about it. It beggars belief that they are charging babies to feed. It's ridiculous."

OMG what planet are they from? Mad Its all to promote :boob: which unless i've been doing it wrong i thought was free?! So its not about getting mums to pay to feed their baby - its about getting mums to do the right thing and use their own milk which is free!!! But i am also gald to hear that formula will be free for those who cant feed for medical reasons - its not fair to penalise them.

:aww:

lol! wont the mothers have to pay to feed their babies if the choose to ff anyway?? Think how much money mothers will save in the long run if they are motivated into bfing due to financial reasons

I wish the same thing happened in my hospital... but sadly it won't they took lil miss off me and force fed her even though I was successfully bfing.
