Connor got his school place

I am really pleased as i got the e-mail confirmation this morning that Connor has got his school place. The competition for places at the school is fierce and i was worried as we are out of catchment.
I did plead that i worked there and it would be very difficult for him to go elsewhere and it worked
He does go to the Nursery there already but that makes no ifference apparently
Does anyone else have this problem and how early did you have to apply. Connor doesn't go to School till next Jan!

Our village school is desperate for children - and it is the school i want them to go to so we are fine.
There is a church run school 5 miles away that people are desperate to get into - people start going to church and sending kids to sunday school at enrollment time :haha: There is a lot of competitiveness there though, and a lot of parents (and therefore kids) think they are better than everyone else.

I know what you mean - the CoE school on the island is the same.
The reason i wanted Connor to get his place was convenience for me working there.
We have plently of schools on the island - 6 i think!!

Well I have been enquiring already for Oli, I dont need to sign her up until August 2009.
I want her to go to a Solihull school, we are on the boarder of brum and solihull so its hit and miss :tear:
