Below is a screen shot of a profile.
You see there is a red box, in the red box that is where you can change your avatar, sig and see what topics you are watching.
To watch a topic, below were you make a post there is an option button, look to the end and you will see a little white square with a cross on, press that and tick 'notify me when a reply is posted.
