* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)

Post by Kasia80 Sat Jun 07, 2008 2:14 pm

I've had sms from Tasha:

Me and Oli are in hospital, we think she has another ear infection, she was in a reall bad state and I had to call an ambulance. She's asleep now and they have asked me to try and catch some wee! I think she will be ok, but it is scarry all the same.

Poor little lamb!

Please keep her in your thoughts and lets hope its nothing serious and little Oli will be home soon.
Hugs to poor Tash, I can't imagine how she must be stressed.

Thank you everyone :aww: and thank you Katie :aww:

Well this morning shes was abit of grump but I thought it was because she was tierd.

She wanted to go bed before her lunch which isn't like her, so I took her up and 30 mins later she woke up crying and screaming and threw up :iconsad:

I took her down and she was in such a state, we couldn;t calm her down no matter what, so after 30-40 mins of this I called the ambulance, and she calmed down abit byt he time they got here (typical Razz )

She was getting into a state again, and hated being touched by the meds, we got there and she threw up again lots, and we were asked to go wait in another room, there were lots of babies like Oli there all so poorly :tear:

The doc looked in her ears (after much struggle) and said her one ear was red, so ear infection again!!! No

She was sooo tierd bless her, so I layed her on the bed with her nappy off, as I had to catch a wee ( which of course I never managed Rolling Eyes )

Daddy got there and the doc came in and said we could go, woke Oli up and she was back to her old self!!!
Pointing at all the pictures and getting excited to see dada Very Happy

She was fine, got home and she scoffed some toast (and crust! Shocked ) and has just gone to bed.

The infection must have gone into her stomach again and the second sick must of cleared it.

Poor maid, looks like its something shes going to get, I was worried it was menangitis as she had all the symptoms, she had a rash but it wasnt blotchy and went when you touched it.

But I think that was from her screaming and kicking in pain, poor thing Sad

Tash, don't feel guilty!
Maya is bf and she had at least 5 (we know about). They just get them. I asked doc about it one time- fed up with antibiotics, I said: look we are bf and she is getting it- shouldn't she be ear infection free?
And she-doc- said that breastfeeding is known to minimise ear infections and probably if we wouldn't bf Maya would have many more of them.
We thought about it and she seems to get them after I clean her ears. Normally I wold just leave her in piece,as wax seems to roll out her ear, but on big occassions I was cleaning her ears and then in 2 days later she would rub it and there you go.
So don't feel guilty at all :aww: its just bugs, nothing else. You've gave Oli great start and great deal of antibodies :aww:

Thank you hun, well since the first time giving her anitbiotics I haven't ever again, just made it worse in the long run!

She did recover very quickly, in a matter of hours, I leave her ears alone and use a flannel to wash her hair.

Her bed is raised slightly underneathe too (not mattress) I try my best to help prevent them, but everytime she has a bad cold you can bet she will have one a week later Sad

Thanks again hun I feel better :aww:
