Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Problems feeding and settling at night? Empty Problems feeding and settling at night?

Post by JaneJayandBaby Sun Aug 03, 2008 7:07 pm

ok... so we have now mastered the day time. baby jaiden is 2 weeks old tomorrow. through the day he will have biggish feeds and go to sleep more or less straight away... but at night he is on and off constantly and is way too alert.

im having to use a dummy at times just to get him to go to sleep. and feeding can be very frustrating. even if he seems to have a big feed rather than fall asleep like normal he will be wide awake kicking his arms and legs about and making lots of noise.

any solutions? do i need to keep him awake more through the day? i wouldnt mind him being alert in the night if i could keep awake and play with him.. but i am so knackered in the night time lol.

please help... again (sorry lol) xx
