Injections at 13months
I have booked Ellie in for her injections next Friday. Has anybody's LO had a reaction to these or are they generally OK afterwards? The thing that is worrying me is we are going on holiday the following day.
Thanks

Re: Injections at 13months
I know, despite all the reports now disproving any link to Autism I still can't help worrying. I was hoping to get the jabs booked for this friday but they didn't have an a appointment in the afternoon for this week so I had to take next week.

Re: Injections at 13months
I am worried about them too, Oli may have to have them differently anyway as she is allergic to egg, and they use egg protien in the jab.
I am not sure how I feel about them.

John had bad reaction to all jabs but MMR.
There is no proven connection between MMR vaccine and autism.
All this scare was started by this man. Would you trust his research??

I hope above information helped you a bit.
John is due tomorrow for his second lot of MMR, and I will update on it in the evening.

This is what WHO is saying about MMR and autism:
http://www.who.int/vaccine_safety/topics/mmr/mmr_autism/en/Based on the extensive review presented, GACVS concluded that no evidence exists of a causal association between MMR vaccine and autism or autistic disorders. The committee believes the matter is likely to be clarified by a better understanding of the causes of autism. GACVS also concluded that there is no evidence to support the routine use of monovalent measles, mumps and rubella vaccines over the combined vaccine, a strategy which would put children at increased risk of incomplete immunization. Thus, GACVS recommends that there should be no change in current vaccination practices with MMR.

Re: Injections at 13months
both my boys were fine after it.
my in-laws wanted to pay for them to have seperate jabs, but there is so little research into them it scared me!
I personally dont think there is any link.
My theory is that many more illnesses and conditions now have names and are easily recognised by parents and health professionals, so what used to be a 'naughty child' in the good old days is now a child with autism or ADHD. People will always try and find a link or reasons for conditions such as this, but for all the research i have done into MMR, i was 100% happy for my boys to have it.

My LO was fine after his and I don't think there is a link between autism and the MMR.

Re: Injections at 13months
It is completely your choice hun, but my personal belief is that they are safer having it than not........
If you look into the research done on the links between autism and mmr there are no actual proven links - but it is down to the individualat the end of the day x

oh meant to say if youre going on hols you can rearrange the app, sometimes they get a temp a few days later, i think each one has a different reaction period, it would be worth talking to hv, nothing to worry bout it just makes them uncomfortable for a couple of hours but if youre on hols it might not be nice!!! i rearranged aeryns xxx
