Smoking and lactating women - nicotine disrupts infants' sleep patterns

A study from the Monell Chemical Senses Center reports that nicotine in the breast milk of lactating mothers who smoke cigarettes disrupts their infants' sleep patterns.

i quit 
i was smoking but gave up whilst i was pregnant, it was tough but we get there and i feel so much better for it now

i started at the tender age of 9..
i wish mark would quit now then we have a smoke free family,
oh by the way, he dont smoke in house or touch bailey when hes had a smoke, just incase ppl wonder

Can sympathise with OH smoking although he is v good about washing etc after smoking b4 seeing kiddies!!

I gave up as soon as I found out I was pregnant and ive never looked back.
I would never smoke while breastfeeding.
Or at all for the matter, dirty habbit
I do think its wrong to smoke while breastfeeding especialy as you are so close to your baby all the time, all I can think of is that smoking advert were babies are inhaling smoke, its horrible

i used to be a smoker from about 13 i stopped when i found out i was pg with my oldest, ive had periods where ive been a social smoker inbetween having children but havent since before i was pg with aeryn- shes 2and a bit- dave (my partner) banned anyone from smoking near me or my kids! what really gets me is since the new law of not smoking in public areas there are so many people who think its ok to stand outside the workplace like walking through my town half the shop workers are on the street smoking

I know we went up to out town this week and I crossed the road to avoid the fog!!
What annoys me is when people walk along with their fags pushchair height and flick fag ash - have had a really big row recentley over that!!
