Re: Gastroenteritis
i had it when i was little - the sickness should only last a couple of days - need to stay off food and drink plenty of fluids.
It leaves you feeling pretty washed out unfortunately...........
:group hug: to you all, and :gdluck: for speedy recoveries

Re: Gastroenteritis
:aww: I double Kay.
Sorry to hear you Niahm is feeling not well. And your OH.
Bit sidetracking: it is safe for you to bf if you will catch the bug to. I hope you will not, but just wanted you to know.
I'm bit cloudy today, sorry: is Niahm breastfeeding?

Re: Gastroenteritis
This is relly good, hun, that she is breastfeeding. Breast milk is easy to digest and provides her everything she needs. Plus she is geting extra shot of antibodies from you. Just keep offering!:boob:
And hopefully all of you will feel better soon! :aww:

Re: Gastroenteritis
I think you should contact doc, hun.
Anything after 7 days it could be a reason to worry...Never safe enough.
You could try to give her some blueberries, they have anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, witch helps fight the couse.
Yoghurt will help top uf friendly bacteria.
Don't stop breastfeeding and make sure she is drinking enough.
But...I remember when Maya had diarrhea, ped said it is normal for gut to "heal" up to 6 weeks. He called it flushing the system- body gets rid this way of harmful bateria or food.
Keep us posted. :aww:

Re: Gastroenteritis
I would take her to the docs, is she dehydrating with it, keep on feeding her and making sure shes getting plenty of fluids like katie said, she needs to keep them up..
