Just been to our mum's and babies playgroup this morning, our HV (who is very nice, helpful and supportive) came along as she does occasionally - she's starting up a new latch on support group in town soon and has asked me if she can put me down to be trained as a peer supporter - YES SHE CAN!

Tell us about yourself : I'm a SAHM to Kacie aged 10.5 months. I'm very into an AP way of life, baby-wearing, co-sleeping, breastfeeding, etc. We're coming up to one year and I'm looking for places where I won't be looked down on for extended breastfeeding. I have no intention of weaning until Kacie wants to. We're also traying to conceive baby no. 2, so really hoping to tandam feed and will be looking for support to do this too.

Well I've filled in all the forms and questionnaires as to why I want to be a peer supporter, just got to wait and hear if I've got a place now! When we saw the HV for 8 month check a couple of weeks ago she said she'd only been allocated 2 spaces on this course, so fingers crossed!

There will apparently be another course next year and they'll hold my application for that one. Kaygeebee, i'm in Llangollen so Colwyn Bay is probably a bit too far for me to commit to getting there regularly. Many thanks for the offer tho! If I still don't get a place next year I may well take you up then!

Oh and my health visitor said to me that they were struggling with finding funding for people who needed to travel to get to the venue. Which seems silly that they didn't offer me a place, given that I said that a, I have a car and b, I wouldn't need to claim expenses for fuel as it's only 5 miles for me and not worth the bother! Silly people!
