How is your crop?
Just wondering how everyones growing attempts went/going?
I have failed, totally lost the battle with the slug, as much as the chooks ate as many as they could they have destroyed my garden!
So hows everyone else done?

Re: How is your crop?
not a good year here either
My tomatoes havent ripened yet, and the slugs have demolished my cauli!
carrots are growing slowly, about 1cm at the moment
I did ok on the strawberries, and the other berry plants i have are new this year, so i wasnt expecting them to fruit this year anyway.
My apple tree is blooming tho - plenty of apple crumbles

Re: How is your crop?
i did really well with my first batch of lettuce but the second lot has been attacked by catterpilars! ive had 2 lots of raddish but the third lot have gone to seed, ive had one lot of mini carrots but i dont think this second lot are doing well, i havent dug up the taties yet but im not sure how theyve done- not very hopeful but will let you know!
all of my herbs took off like wild fire i managed to dry some coriander but have just used the rest of them fresh and now most of them are flowering some got destroyed in the mad wind like my tomatos- some of the branches broke off theres a bit left and theyre starting to ripen now
ive found the best thing to keep away slugs is the gravelly stuff cant remember the name but its very chalky and they cant cross it
will put the name up later we have a real slug problem but i managed to keep them at bay with this stuff

Re: How is your crop?
found a couple of links to the stuff i buy, have you got a 'home bargains', 'poundstretcher', 'b&m', 'poundland' or wilkinsons nearby? i buy mine from those shops and theyre usually either £1 or £1.99 rather than the prices on these sites
