Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

topic 6 Mastitus and pelvic inflammatory deacease :(

Post by steph80 Tue Nov 27, 2007 5:13 pm

Ive been trying everything to cover up as much as possible after I have had the pinching biting and scratching thing too. I resulted in wearing normal bra and poking the nipple between my top and bra so as little as possible was grabbable. I ended up restricting the flow and got mastitus. Im so stupid I should know better.

While I was there I complained I was still bleeding and very uncomfortable like perminent period pain. Madies 17 weeks old surely it should be better now? Is it my coil? Maybe its not right or there is some problem from when I got pelvic Inflammetory decease. Dr said when was that? I said suspected after I had Nathan as it occurs natural either after childbirth, miscarriage or open surgery in the uterus. Mine was not clymidia linked which is the other cause so this was what the clinic thought and I had a ectopic as a result it scars your tubes. He had a poke and prod asked for my symptoms did some tests and figures I have got it again. Aparently your more prone once youve had it once, and I do feel rough but I just put it down to everything else.

I just thank god I dont want more kids I would never risk going through the ectopic again it was awful. All I can say ladies if you get prolonged intermittent bleeds, cramps and pain in the uterus and sometimes inside and they cant figure it out question if its PID just to be safe. First time I had it took 3 1/2 years before I found out and I have a tube missing and scars to prove it. Hopefully now I have the antibiotics Ill get on the mend again cheers

Sorry to hear that!!

Hope u feel better soon.

Don't forget to massage and express by hand to relieve pressure.
Also cold and hot flannels really helped when i had mastitis

Thanks for the tips Lisa I do massage but didnt know about the flannels. Thank heaven for other mums we are always each others best source of support Smile

Thanks everyone for your kind messages. I am just glad weve figured out why Ive been feeling off for so long. Theyve treated me for various things. Hopefully now Ill just get better and a little more on top of things.

I got my hair chopped yesterday. Amazing how much better you feel isnt it. More woman less sheepdog lol. I was embarrassed though the girl was massaging my scalp. I always say I could fall asleep, yesterday I actually did :S. She was so nice though she said loads of tired mummys do lol.

Also am going to see mum this weekend for a little tlc. I have a few good friend here but no faily to call on when I need a hand. Having a girlie night in soon too I can wait. Some me time is just what I need:)

Thanks ladies xxxx
