Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

topic3 This time last year!

Post by Chelle7 Thu Dec 20, 2007 5:55 pm

On December 20th last year Zachary went back into hospital cos he stopped breathing! :tear:
He was originally discharged from SCBU on 16th Dec weighing 4lbs 1oz when we brought him home.
It was while I was breasrfeeding him that he just suddenly stopped breathing............. affraid very very scary! I was a nervous wreck!
Jamie my Hubby :aww: was absolutely amazing and kept him going by puffing in his mouth until the ambulance arrived. I was outside (I couldn't stay near him) on phone to ambulance operator til it came. When he got to hospital they did loads of tests(for infection, RSV, bronchitis etc) and everything came back negative! They put it down to his prematurity...just that he had forgot to breathe. Rolling Eyes He spent 4 nights in hospital and was allowed home again on Christmas day (around teatime!)

This year it will be wonderful having all my children together as I had to be home to see the other kids on Christmas morning before going back to Zach.
I really can't believe what happened to him when I look at him now..he is such a robust , beautiful happy little boy. cheers

I am so excited about Christmas morning and intend to have a fantastic day!
Hope you all do too! x x
