* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)

Headache ? Empty Headache ?

Post by SarahW Sat May 17, 2008 3:55 pm

Hi ladies,

i've been suffering with quite bad headaches for the last couple of days, they are always worst first thing in the morning but have it on and off. I have noticed i haven't been drinking as much for a couple of days, do you think the headaches could be because i'm not drinking enough to satisfy my thirst and need for fluids as well as making milk for Mollie. HV did tell me i'd need to drink more but my thirst does seem to have settled over last few days, cos was initially thirsty all the time. What do you guys think and ideas/tips?
Cheers

If you have problem with remembering to drink during the day (and knowing how us mum's can get busy during the day, I'm sure you do forget Wink ) my tip is: when I sit down to feed LO- like before nap or after etc, I make sure to have glass of water next to me.
Also in early days/ months I would have bottle of water next to bed and a glass and drink as I feed etc. I do make sure to drink glass of water after I brush my teeth in the morning/evenig- somehow its easy, as I'm by the tap anyway :haha
hope this helps a bit. :aww:

I agree I always used to make sure I had a drink to hand whenever I fed Brody. Now he doesn't feed in the day I always just make sure I have a glass to sip at and fill it up whenever it empties!

Yes sounds like dehydration, I kept a drink by me all the time and I never had a headache.

Agree it is probably lack of fluids as your LO is still young and demanding a lot from your body! I used to find i was really good at dinking in the day but not in the night and my LO fed more in the night!
