Nursing to sleep

Hi Ladies,
just been thinking recently about the fact that Evie usually only sleeps after :boob: .
I don't mind this now...but when I hope to do some work in Sept, not sure how she will cope without :boob: .
Have read the stuff on Kellymom and it says that they usually stop doing this by themselves when they are developmentally ready.
Just wondered what people's experiences of this were? Does your baby only nurse to sleep? When did they start to settle themselves? Did/have they not yet?
Oliver did used to aswell, but can't remember when he stopped...must have been sooner because I went back to work just before he was 6m??????

Brody used to do this too and suddenly started falling asleep by himself at 19 months!

Corey is 16 months, and still has booby for sleep - especially at bed. In the day he will go off in the buggy or car, but it HAS to be :boob: at night!

Emily is 1 & 1/2 and still needs :boob: to sleep & during the night

Lucy is 9 months, and 50/50. She *can* go to sleep on her own these days, but just as often wants booby-help. I'm pleased people think they'll grow out of it, as I never minded she needed me and fed of hearing the words 'rod' and 'back'.

D learnt about 18 months as well, M (nearly 5 months) sometimes does now! Think its all a bit pot luck anyway... There is a nice book called "The No Cry Sleep Solution" which is gentle methods to try with your LO.

Olivia was the same, and like Jool's Brody, she stopped all of a sudden when she decided she didn't want it before bed.

Thanks girls! I think you are right gingerpig, it is potluck! Evie is certainly more hard work that oli ever was and I haven't done anything differently...so must be nature not nurture. I might look out for that book aswell. I don't mind the :boob: to sleep, it certainly is the more peaceful option, but it would be nice if other people could settle her when I'm not there. Anna likes to have a milky cuddle to get to sleep, but will just as happily take a cuddle with Daddy and a lullaby in it's place... She started settling like this from about 12 months. I think every baby is different, but they all get there in the end

Lil miss has started to go down without boobie...She will only really do it with DH and he needs to cuddle her and walk around or someone needs to sit with her till she drops off. Its not perfect but she has started this on her own...so she must be ready... although she still loves boobies and that morning booby is a must... !!!

Isabel would nurse herself to sleep. She nursed a lot when she was much younger. the first 3 months she was living on my boob. I loved it though, he was such a good nurser. She got finally would nurse then stay up for about 10 minutes and go right to bed.

willow is 22mths and still doesnt go to sleep without bf! i havent left her much with anyone else so really shes never had the oportunity to get used to it so its not the same but when i have left my friend babysitting (three times :iconredface: ) my son (whos 16) took her for a walk in her pushchair when she got sleepy and she fell asleep that way.
