Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Morning sickness Empty Morning sickness

Post by rhi'smummy Sun Jul 12, 2009 11:37 am

Well my little line became a big fat thick line, and although I'm not sure how far along exactly I think I'm getting on for 7 weeks now.
With Rhianna I had no morning sickness, I'd had a miscarrage just before becoming pregnant with her, so I kind of wished I had as its supposed to be a sign things are going well. But this last couple of weeks I've felt terrible. I've not been sick, but from the moment I wake up I feel really nausous. It seems to get worse when I'm nursing Rhianna and at night sometimes its really hard to find a comfortable position. She does sleep through mostly, but we've been away for a week and that messed things up a bit. She usually wakes up early and we lie in bed having cuddles and mummy milk, sometimes for an hour or more. Thats when its the worst, this morning we just got up straight away, so I just feel extra tired too. Thats another thing, I've got no energy. I'm just worn out, I feel constantly sick and I'm really grumpy. I'm really hoping it wont last much longer.
Any tips or hope you can give me?

No tips but big hugs to you! Went through exactly the same - all I can say is look after yourself as much as possible, and know that this will pass! It's awful, I went through the same with being pregnant with Michael as D was (and is) still feeding. Hopefully your morning sickness will finish or at least at roundabouts week 12, only 5 more weeks to go. Eat whatever you fancy and more big hugs!

Awwww I missed this too! Congratulations cheers bliss

I have no tips either just big hugs :aww:
I was exactly the same too. It was the headaches and smells making me feel sick so I used that 4head stuff and someone told me that rubbing vicks under your nose helps with the smells if that is making you feel sick too :aww: :aww:

I had awful nausea, but no actual vomitting - the best things i found were rich tea biscuits. I kept them by the bed, i found if i nibbled one before i got up i felt much better.

The tiredness is awful at this stage, but before you know it you will be bouncing round full of energy in the 2nd trimester :aww:

Post by TashaAndBump Sat Jul 18, 2009 9:15 am

Hey,

I have had awful morning sickness with this pregnancy and there have been times I have just not wanted to feed Anna because my boobs hurt and I feel rotten!

I found none of the things suggested me (dry toast, ginger etc...) worked and I felt sick and was sick from 6 weeks right up until about 11 weeks - all day, every day (sorry!). I did find that if I got up early and nibbled on something (anything) then ate small amounts of dry food every 2 hours never letting my tummy get completely empty, that sometimes helped, but not always.

I bought some sickness bands at 11 weeks and they seem to work well (seabands from boots - in the travel sickness / products range) and from then my sickness only came and went instead of being constant and wasn't as severe, but I can't guarantee it was the seabands of course - I may have been about to start feeling better anyway, but they are definitely worth a go! :-)

Also do you think there may be 2 in there? As I had no sickness with my daughter, and this time around the sickness and exhaustion has been unbearable - I found out at 8 weeks that I'm expecting twins lol so maybe that is the cause of your nausea??

Take care and I hope your nausea eases up soon for you x

I've got some of those bands somewhere, I'll search for them and give them a go, thanks. Definately only 1 blob in there, see my other post.
I'm going to try acupuncture on tues, its supposed to be great for all kinds of things, and this lady specialises in fertility, pregnancy, pmt type things and mentions morning sickness, so I'm hopeful of some help. I've got an hsa policy so get it mostly paid for, so thought its worth a go.
I cant imagine feeling like this for another month or more
I'd better have another beautiful baby, or there'll be trouble!

Another option is homeopathy, though I didn't try it for ms but I used it in labour and it was brilliant.

Homeopathy is safe for pregnant mums and nursing babies x

Ooh yes, I get homeopathy paid for with my HSA. I've just had accupuncture, but not really sure it made a lot of difference.

Yeah Mervs mummy, we'll have to start a club! Congratulations
