Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Hello girls i popped home today to get Callum some more bits and bobs and just popped to fiona's to update her, so rather than her update you thought it would be better to do myself,

How is everyone, hope your all ok.. :aww:

Congratulations to angpixi, ive heard your news still have to read your story. :aww:

Anyway down to callum, as most of you know he was quite sleepy and not feeding to great, the Midwife came round on the 15th and did a jaundice test to see what the figures were like, they was high so he was admitted in to hospital and put on this weird mat with a blue mat, i felt horrible because i couldnt hold him or anything, anyway he still wasnt feeding off me like he should so the next day they put a nose tube down, and fed him formula without me even knowing, i was not impressed, jack went mad and said he was breastfeeding and they basically said we need to get fluids into him to help draw the jaundice out, so i was given a pump to express my milk off, i dont like that it hurt so much, anyway i wasnt getting much off about a half oz at a time, but it was enough for him, on day 3 he fed from me for 20 mins, which was great, then he slept..
Every day hes had his bloods done to check his jaundice levels and im happy to say they are finally below the at risk line, so they are keeping him in tonight just to make sure he continues feeding etc.
Hopefully he'll be allowed home tomorrow, we shall have to see.
It been a tough first week of his life, but im now looking forward to be able to have him at home and enjoy him all to myself

Thats it, hope your all well

Emma C
