hello again
I introduced myself ages ago but with one thing and another (including the birth of my beautiful baby girl) I haven't had a chance to post sooner.
As I have said in my previous post I breastfed my first daughter till she was 20 months when she decided to stop. I had experieced a load of problems with starting breastfeeding, and wasn't able to exclusively breastfeed her till she was 2 moinths, as a result of bad information and a lack of support from health professionals.I was really nervous this time round but felt confident that I was wiser and knew more so it would be a breeze the second timeround.
Cally was born at home and the feeding got off to a good start but there were problems with her latch and I quickly became sore. I was very down with the pain, and at one point gave in and gave her 2oz of formula. However after using nipple shields and loads of lasinoh and camisillan my boobs healed up. However the nipple shields had meant that Cally was used to them and was struggling to latch on again. I threw the shields out and we stuck at it and I can now say that breastfeeding is fantastic. Apart from me having to rush into hospital and not having time to express so she had 2 bottles of formula, I have been feeding her all by myself and she is doing great, has gone up from the 75th centile to the 91st. My oldest daughter (who is now 2) loves watching me feed Cally, says "Cally is drinking booby milk", and is fasinated by me expressing mymilk (loves helping to milk mummy lol). I have also caught her breastfeeding her doll and asking her toy tigger if he wants a booby.
So that is me so far. Am looking forward to posting on here more and getting to know everyoe.
Just wanted to say thanks to Tash for her kind message too, hopeyou are doing ok hun x

Wonderful news!!! :aww:
I completely agree that being well informed is the key to successful breastfeeding - i think we are both a prime example of that!
Look forward to hearing more from you soon :aww:

:aww: Thanks for popping by, yes im great thank you.
I think its brilliant that once again you have got through with determination and enjoy booby feeding all over again.
How wonderful that your daughter is copying her mummy and taking part!
So pleased to see you here and well done
