Re: Charlotte Church on breastfeeding....Yeah!
Dont think that link is working i'll try to get the link in a minute but on Yahoo news it says....
Charlotte Church is calling on other young mums to breastfeed their babies.
The 21-year-old singer and presenter says she does not understand why some choose to use a bottle.
Church, whose partner is Wales rugby star Gavin Henson, gave birth to Ruby Megan last September.
"Feeding Ruby myself has been such a positive experience and I would definitely recommend to other mums that they try it," she said.
"I don't know why so few young mums choose to breastfeed but I think there are a lot of myths out there.
"It was really reassuring knowing that Ruby had extra protection from chest, ear and stomach infections, as well as from diabetes and allergies."
Health experts believe younger mothers are less likely to breastfeed because of social pressure and a lack of understanding.
Sue Sky, breastfeeding coordinator for Wales, said: "Charlotte Church is a fantastic example of a young mother deciding that breast really is best and we hope that she will serve as a role model to her many thousands of female fans."
"Breastfed babies visit the doctor less often than those who are fed infant formula, and they are less likely to have heart disease when they get older.
"For mums, it reduces the risk of ovarian and breast cancer and helps them to get their figures back faster."
Church is speaking at the launch of a Welsh Assembly drive to encourage more young women to give their babies breast milk.
She will join health experts and Wales's Children's Minister Jane Hutt at the Millennium Centre.
The event coincides with Breastfeeding Awareness Week.
