helping theirselves to booby
bethany has never got the hang of helping herself to booby during night. just wandering if anyone else is the same? think she only latched on once herself during night in 7 month lol! and even then she nearly give me a lovebite on boob before finding nipple! :haha:
usually she just sort of thrashes her head side to side until i latch her on

Re: helping theirselves to booby
Corey can latch himself on, but i sometimes have to reposition boob a bit - or if he needs 'other boob'. I dont have to do so much that i wake up properly, if you know what i mean!

Brody never got the hang of latching on himself. He used to get angry if he didn't find it straight away so ended up having to help!

Re: helping theirselves to booby
Can I ask others advice please?
My 7 month old helps herself at night but it's starting to wear me out. She then wakes up with wind 1/2 hr later. It's too cold to sleep with my chest out of quilt! Also, she then doesn't really want any breakfast.
Should she still need feeding now or should I be encouraging her to sleep?
I didn't really have this problem with my elder daughter.
Thanks
Tracey

Re: helping theirselves to booby
Mine is exactly the same so I don't really have any advice, just sympathy! 7 months today and can wake up anything from 4-10 times a night! Mostly 4-8 I'd say. It is wearing me out too. I am going with the flow untill she is abit older and can have cows milk to drink.

Re: helping theirselves to booby
Corey helps himself at night - i wear a T shirt pulled up so my shoulders dont get cold, or a nursing nightie with one boob hanging out!
He doesnt get the wind fortunately, so its pretty undisturbed for us - apart from having to swop sides when he needs other boob.
I have to say i have no idea how many times he feeds - day or night  He is completely on demand - and if ever i try to count, i have either lost count or forgotten by 10 am!

Do you ever worry about gas? I mean burping in the middle of the night when they help themselves. Or spit up?
