i hate that warmfront place though. When i was pregnant with bethany we had no central heating and it was freezing in our house. And i begged them to help with getting central heating as we just couldnt afford to get it. they said they couldnt help - even when i had bethany me and hubby were earning slightly too much.

They said they could give us discounted central heating though. We thought oh at least thats better than nothing. They said they'd send a local company to give us a quote. The thing is, the company they sent had given us a private quote 2 weeks before. The quote they would normally give was nearly £1500 less than the 'discounted quote' that they give for wamfront! affraid

Both the company that came out and warmfront when i phoned them back said it was because they had to have a fixed price for the whole country and thats why it was so much! But the warmfront place said 'but at least you get interest free payments with us'?!!! Mad

We ended up getting a loan out and got further into debt but at least it was cheaper than the discount price!

I think they are great for people on low incomes. In my last home they put in cavity wall heating, jacket for immersion heater as well as loft insulation and door and window draught excluders, This was all free.

What annoys me is that you must be in receipt of some for of benefit to be eligable - what about people in reciept of no benefits because they are just above the threashold. They are probably worse off than those who recieve benefits because of the amount being paid out each month. Worse for homeowners as they have morgage, insurances etc that tenants do not as well as the upkeep of their property. I am all for support schemes but not when they are unfair to working families.

Sorry rant over!!
