Breastfeeding pro's needed :)
I'm currently doing my access to nursing and midwifery course at college to get me into university to become a midwife.
I am just starting my research projects, where I need to pick a health topic I am interested in and research it with a questionnaire to give out in my area, aswell as analysing it at the end.
For my topic I have choosen breastfeeding. So.. I'm hoping you lovely ladies can help me come up with some good questions for my questionnaire.
So far I have got-
age
after giving birth were you given skin to skin contact in the first ten minutes
were you given help and encouragement to breast feed
oh btw to anyone who is a lactavist... how can I train with only have bf for 10 weeks with my son? as I dont have the time to go to lots of courses, but can go to some
thanks x

Where did you give birth?
If in hospital , what support were you given (if any)
When home did the community midwife give you support?
Did ur hv give support
Were you made aware of suport groups in the area
If you encountered problems/struggles was there someone you could turn to?
I'll probably think of some more lol

Did anyone check you latching ok?
Did they show you how to latch yourself (coz in my case they grabbed my boob and the babys head and wump she was on - great but my mw wasn't gonna be here at 3 in the morning to do that lol)
Was breastfeeding explained to you? (ie its the boob they need not just the nipple)

Re: Breastfeeding pro's needed :)
is it your first child?
if yes did you bf before?
did you have medicated birth?
was baby all fine or needed medical intervention?
was baby full term?
any complications during birth?=== this and above can make huge difference to how bf will go in future.
would you say you come from family where bf comes as natural?
is your family supportive of bf?
is your partner supportive of bf?
I have more but have to dash again lol
