Teeth and breastfeeding

Ok... lil miss isn't 12months + but I thought it might get a better response here...as a lot of babies don't get their top and bottom teeth until this time...

Lil miss has finally cut both her top teeth. She also has 3 at the bottom. But since she cut her top two, my nipples have begun to hurt an awful lot Its as bad as when I first started breastfeeding I'm using lanoish... but I am wondering if this is normal?

Lil miss is a lazy latcher, and she likes to mess around, on off on off, sitting up, standing up, walking away all with the nipple in her mouth... should I try and get that under control, or will my nipples desensitise after a little while once we get used to the teeth...?

Whats peoples general experience after the top set have cut?

Coreys cut 2 on top and 1 on bottom, and they just starting to get sharper............

I havent had pain with Amelia and she has 12 teeth and another 4 otw..... if she is tired etc her top teeth can graze a little but i think it is a case of getting acclimatised to the feeling of teeth on boob!!!!!

I got used to it, Olivia only bite me a few times, quite hard though.

Trying the unlatch upproach and saying no didn't work for me, distraction worked best for us.

It soon went by though, and she had more teeth and really didn't bother me and she never bite either

She hasn't bitten me yet with all four teeth (thats gonna hurt ) but her top teeth do seem to be rubbing against my nipples when shes feeding... as I said shes a lazy latcher and tends to suck my nipples into her mouth rather than open her mouth and feed.

Bethany got her first 2 teeth at the beginning of this month and i've been bragging to family about how it doesnt hurt. Well i take it back now lol. Like lil miss, bethany doesnt bite but my nipples feel like they did when i first started breastfeeding - really really sensitive. I'm trying to air them as much as possible and i got some more lansinoh off docs today and been expressing a bit of breast milk after each feed so fingers crossed they'll start to feel better soon

She bit me... it hurts.... now my nipple hurts to be in a bra... :iconsad: At least DH is pleased

I was lucky enough to only get bit once but did find the best way for it to heal was wear no bra and leave it naked as much as possible :aww: :aww:

Poor you ! I'm getting nervous now - Corey has cut his 4th - he now has front 4, and they are like little razor blades on my fingers! He hasnt bit yet, but i know its a matter of time til he has a go!
