Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times

Well I never had a carrier of any kind with Brody but I'm desperate to try it this time Very Happy

What type of carrier would be good to start with? All I'm really bothered about is I'd like to be able to feed on the go!
Would something like this do for a start?confused

I have a babasling its ok when they are tiny but when they get a bit bigger it becomes a little more tricy to get it into the right position.

I tend to use mine only when I pick eldest up from school so might be selling it soon.

ive heard they are good - its similar shape to a ringsling.
I had a ringsling from day 1 - i could bf walking round with him in it, and its versatile up until they are toddlers.

this is the shape you need for feeding, as you need to be able to carry HIM Wink Cradle style!

I saw some freedom slings on ebay but they were only about 16 quid! Is that about right do you think? It seems really cheap compared to some I've seen!!

Yeah, they go for anything really - and there are lots of stay at home mums making them and selling them on ebay, as they are easy to make.

ive just ordered a wrap off ebay because they use soo much fabric - it was cheaper to buy it direct from china ready made than buy the fabric in town and make one! Shocked

I never fed in any of my slings so carnt help with that, but where as a lot of these ladys love there ring sling i hated it and yes im gonna rave about it again i wouldnt be without my mei tai katie made me.. the material only cost £8!!! i didnt have one of those slings you have mentioned i had one very simula and as im only 5" 5 it swomped me and looked silly. If its pos and any of your friends have slings try theres to see how they fit ect so you dont waste your money,

PS, them freedom slings have not been recommened by a few dr's as some babies leg blood suply have been having problems because the way the babies sit in them when 5mths plus, there was a report somewhere.

Good luck hope you find one you like Very Happy

I think slings are all oersonal preference. I had a ring sling when Daisy was very small and she hated it, but then, both of mine have hated being in the cradle position unless they were being fed. My personal favourites are mei tais and wraps, but thats me Wink

We use a ring sling. I find it great for feeding in.
Used it from about 4 weeks and still using it now. I wouldn't be without it.
This site has vid clips on how to use them -

Its great once your used to it.
