not goig to sleep
Lana has decided to scream instead of sleep for the last few nights.
I think its the fireworks but she can't tell us why she is crying. Its such a shame she's terrified.
Any tips on helping her to express why she's crying rather than putting words in her mouth? I don't want to say things like are you scared of the fireworks. She might say yes when its something else.
She slept fine for the two nights before, with firewoks going off but her step brother was in the room with her. I have a feeling he might have been scared and she's noticed. This happened before, he kept saying he was scared of the dark and when he went home Lana started criyng when it was dark saying turn light on turn light on.
Its such a shame for her, she's so tired.

Re: not goig to sleep
:aww:
How awful for you both :tear:
I dont really have any advice, but i do agree with what you say about not putting words into her mouth. How old is she again sorry? and what is her talking like? do you think she could tell you if she wasnt so upset?
Have you tried talking to her in the day when she is calm, rather than when she is upset at night?

Re: not goig to sleep
Ellie was petrified on 5th Nov, we had loads of fireworks going off on our estate and she was OK if she could see them, but as soon as I tried to put her down in a dark room with all the bangs going off she really freaked out. It took 40mins to get her asleep. Typical it was one of a handful of nights since she was born I was trying to go out somewhere after putting her down.

Re: not goig to sleep
Sorry i didn't reaply.
Lana is 2 Kay, her talking is quite good when you can hear her......lol
Anyway........Fireworks haven't stopped here yet! They always go on with them for ages. Even i almost jumped off the couch yesterday. Lana was petrified and came running over to me.
She is going to sleep alot better now. Just a bit of a wimper when i leave the room but she almost instantly stops.
The Hv told me to just let her cry. Steve had to hold me down to stop me going upstairs to her when she was screaming. But i must admit it worked, it took 2 nights and the second wasn't that bad really. I hate controlled crying but nothing else worked.
Thanx ladies
