Re: bf support groups
If you ask your health visitor they should be able to let you know your local one.

Re: bf support groups
Aww now well hopefully when you can get your car back on the mend you may be able to visit one.
I would talk to your HV though about why there isn't any in your area, though there might be they just haven't got it on the site.
I know its rediculus concidering the size of brum! and how much they try and push breastfeeding, yet they don't want to help you?!
I moved to Solihull a little while ago and the attitude is very different here with breastfeeding, the statistics are higher and there seems to be more support from health care professionals, but not in the hospital.
Solihull hospital is crap with bfing support when you have had your baby.

Re: bf support groups
yeah there seems to be hardley any support, spoke to the health visitor and surestart they all said the nearest is kings heath, rubbish. That's good Solihull is better! shame about the hospital tho. baby was feeding every 2 hours for a little while so my hv said stick her on a bottle! nice! when i looked shocked at her advice she said 'ow well its up to you it's you who's got ot feed every 2 hours!!' honestly! my friend recently had a baby and only maanged to bf for 2 weeks she really wanted too but as soon as the hv said ow the baby isn't putting on quite enought weight top him up on formula that was the end! baby fully on bottle now what a shame! drives me mad :iconsad: my hubby's family are north african and they all bf for 2 years it's very rare for a baby to be bottled fed there love it!!!! here's for the day when it becomes the norm here in thew UK!!!
thanks for all your support girls and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
