Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Hello members

Kay recommended the link which is very nice to know something like this exists.

I have two boys one two in November and the other is 11 weeks old, I breastfed No 1 for 7.5 months and am going strong with number two. It gets much easier the second time I think and your not as picky as to where to feed. The positioning was much easier this time and I didn't go through as much pain although did have the Lansinoh cream at the ready!

Does any one remember when the baby starts to take both sides? I think I must be getting close as he is getting a bit hungry these days.

WOuld love to hear your stories.

Zoe

:aww: Welcome Zoe!

Thank you so much for saying hello!

You seem as though you are doing well with the breastfeeding!

Olivia doesn't really take both sides now and she 9 months, I think all babies are different.

Hi, Rhianna has been a greedy guts, she's always had both sides each time, she hasn't needed it, so we got lots of dirty nappies!
Welcome, look forward to chatting soon

Very Happy Hi

My LO didn't take both sides for about 3/4 months - as long as LO is happy don't worry.

My first took both for 20 min from day1!!

Thats cleared something up for me. Lots of mummies say, 'I have to have a feel to see which side I did last.' But I always thought there's not a lot of difference. Thats why, lots of babies only feed one side, so the other side would be much fuller. I realy have got a little greedy guts!
