I'm ill again - and my doc dissed breastfeeding :-O
my section scar has reopened and is infected again and i have a sinus infection
Im on 2 lots of antibiotics together, plus painkillers, and i feel like utter crap.
when i went to the doc yesterday, it was the same emergency one i have seen all through who is a young arrogant cock who has been horrible with me (post in private lol!) so i joked to him that i had seen more of him than my husband since having the baby, and he turned and said
"well thats because you are breastfeeding"
I was like 'eh?'
and he said "you wont be here with your baby because he will be well from the breastfeeding, but you are constantly ill because it is weakening your immune system and antibodies!"
like i dont feel shit already, i know he's wrong, he IS wrong, isnt he? i thought breastfeeding was good for me too - i know it is - but now i feel all

Oh Kay, what a pillock of him, as if you need or want to hear that?! (I bet he's single! )
TBH I have no idea if he's right or not - I know there are many health benefits to us BFing mums as well as our babies, I suppose it might stand to reason that your body might be using resources to help milk production that might otherwise go towards warding off colds and illnesses? - but that's not really the point is it?!
I hope you're feeling better today.

What an absolute load of bollocks!
What the hell is he reading "book of I don't know what the eff im talking about breastfeeding"
Your body has been designed to make life and sustain life outside of the uterus, you wouldn't of had him if your body wasn't able to do this.
My body wouldn't get pregnant while im trying to sort out my thyroid, its important I have my levels right (as the thyroid hormones supports the fetus in the early week before they make their own) so there is no way I would sustain life. (sorry tangent but hes such a dick!)
But what I will say is if your not eating well, you are stressed or you haven't had enough in your diet your body will struggle.. thats natural.
Also having these antibiotics over time will lower your immune system as they kill the good bacteria which help support your immune system.
If this isn't replaced by means of probiotics then your body will struggle to get back on its own.. take longer. And as its trying to heal you aswell your body will be on a go slow!
What pissis me off is that your doctor has in no way helped you at all, instead hes come out with the most unhelpful thing ever!
I highley recommend you look at this
http://www.kefir-heaven.co.uk/kefir_source/cat_291304-WATER-KEFIR-GRAINS.html
Have a read up about them, they will really help relace anything that is lost through antibiotics.
Also do you take any arnica?? if not take a look into using this as it will help towards healing your scar.
Tea tree oil is also a great antiseptic, 2 0r 3 drops in the bath will help.
once the weeping has stopped a good hypercal/ calendula cream will really help heal the scar quickly.
Hope that helps xxx

Thanks for asking hunny
im off the anti-bs now, so just trying to pick myself up after them.
The scar has re-healed, though still smells a bit cheesy (im cleansing it 2-3 times a day, with either water or a dilute tea-tree mix) so just keeping an eye (or nose) on it !
