Hi my name is Rachel and I am 33 I have 2 daughters aged 4&5 and my son is 14 days old. I am breastfeeding which is going really well now I have got past the sore cracked nipples stage which to be honest was so painful I almost gave up.

I look forward to reading posts of like minded mums.

Thanks will get myself to boots as I am still a little sore nowhere near as bad as I was though.

As for sore nipples:
try to not wash them to often, as washing removes protective layer of breastmilk. After feedinf rub gently few drops of breastmilk on your nipples, it will heal them beautifuly! You could try "air" them for a few minutes every so often and change breast pads, if you use them.

It is common for mums to have sore nipples in a first days of breasfeeding.
Would you like to have look at a "latching" video, to make sure your baby has correct latch and is possitioned properly? Bad latch and wrong positioning are most common reasons for sore nipples.

I can second what BB said about airing nipples - it really is the best thing - and making sure u change breast pads regularly
