Hiya hun, cameron has this problem and its quite bad, they do correct it but when they are a certain age.. they told us 5, we dont have to wait much longer, as patches are not working for cameron.. tell your hv who will refer her to a eye clinic at the hospital and she may need glasses to see if they help..

John.
We suspected lazy eye and he was reffered to eye hospital for tests, we had to go back every 3 mnths 2 times then every 6 2 too. They never found anything, they said its illusion cos skin folds or something.
But Pauls daughter form 1st marriage ( :fim: ) had lazy eye and she needed patches. She had wear them for a month he says and it was gone, well he says its hardly noticable.
It all depends on how bad it is.
There is nothing to be ashamed for and I would strongly suggest going to gp and gettong refferal to specialist.
Plus I believe even if you only mention it to hv they will be able to arrange it for you too, this is how we got J's refferal, he will be checked again at 5.
hth a bit

HV are very good at referrrals and I have had a couple of children in my clasess (4 and 5 year olds) who either wear corrective lenses for a short time or have to wear a patch for a proportion of the day. The patches worked really well for those children. If not there is an operation they have I think?

Other children in the class are very accepting at this age and it is a novely to them rather that something they see as a negative.

Aww im sure she will be fine! :aww:
A little girl in Jamies nursery class wears glasses, and the kids dont bat an eyelid at her. I think at this age, they dont think of anything as 'not normal'.

Cant wait to see her!

Glasses are cool these days,my son who is 5 always asks when hes allowed some when we go for mine. I think glasses nowadays are a fashion item & kids rarely get teased like they used too,in fact the little ones just look really cute. Im sure she will look adorable. At that age the other kids probably wont even notice x

I have never has a child in my classes laughed at or ridiculed for wearing glasses - the opposite infact; the other kids want them aswell and the other parents have a hard time because that!!
