I think its coming to an end

Well she hasn't fed sinse the early hours and shes been like that for a few days now, and even then she wouldn't be botherd if I didn't offer it.

She isn't really interested during the day and wont have any before bed now either

So its coming to an end.

I am so proud we got this far and she has taken it upon herself to want to do it.

Shes walking now and is a proper little toddler , my baby is gone :tear:

:bf2: I will miss it dearly when she completely stops.

Oh poor you, you'll just have to have another baby so you can carry on!
Mind you I thought a similar thing about Rhianna not long ago. She was eating loads during the day and never ask's for milk, but then she switches back and this week she's hardley left my side.
Its nice when they get to decide whats best for them though, you're a great mummy

Ellie seemed to drop a load of breastfeeds just as she turned one. Leaving just the feed before bed. Since then she has carried on with the one just before bed and she has started waking during the night again as well, when she always wants one if she wakes during the night. So you never know, she may carry on with just the one feed a day for a long time yet.

Hmm not ideal realy living with OHs parents still I would love to but its just not ideal.

Youve done a fantastic job, and i think the important thing is that she has lead the way - you havent stopped before she was ready due to problems or not liking it etc.

Well she hasn't fed sinse 11pm yesterday, we will see how it goes maybe she will have another tonight to make it 13months!

Toddlers tend to nurse on and off sometimes: one day nothing, next day every 5 min.

It has now, she hasn't fed for two days, shes not interested at all, I think she had a couple of sucks the other night but nothing really to say she fed.

So its over now.




I can't wait to do it again!

Though she has made up for it, she cuddles me all the time now, and kisses me on the lips, its lovely, shes a proper litle toddler now.

Its a fun stage now

You are wonderful mama and you've done great job. You've gave Oli best start in life any child can have and I'm sure you will find new ways of comforting and bonding replacing breastfeeding slowly. I admire your patience and understanding Oli's needs and following her in child led weaning :aww:
I would like suggest,if you don't mind: you could write "weaning letter" to Oli; she is little now, but one day she will be able to see how much bf meant to you and how wonderful this 13 months was. Many mum's find this much comforting.
