Washable breast pads

Just thought i would let you all you know that Lansinoh washable breast pads, pack of 4, are 1/2 price in Boots - £2.48!

I got 2 packs today!

Woo hoo I love a bargain.

Talking of which Asda have 1/2 price huggies and own brand wipes 2 packs for £2.

I got 6 packs of size 3 huggies yesterday for £18 and 9 packs of pink packet asda wipes for £9 (wipes 3 for £3)

Sorry to sound negative, but I didn't get on with the washable ones at all. They were too big, so showed, plus they weren't that absorbent, and were really slippery too. I found the avent ones to be the best. If you do use washable ones, make sure you wash them in the net. I had to call an engineer out as my w machine was making a horrible noise, and he looked v embarrassed telling me it was a bra insert that had sneaked out of the drum.
I really only used them at night anyway, but kept forgetting to put them back in after I'd fed Rhianna, so in the end, just slept on a towel.
On the bargain nappy front, I've been mega broke this week so bought some sainsbury's own nappies, also had a 3rd off, and they're just as good as the huggies I usually use, (when my washables are all in the wash).

I'm quite suprised, actually about those pads. In a good way!
They are thin and non slip, non leaking and not making me itch like mad. I thought 4 quid will not hurt to try, and now I think it was def worth it. Shame I've never thought of it before!Would save me a small fortune...

As for nappies: Iwas buying sainsburys own brand all the time. Now when we use cloth nappies my stash of 3 big packs will last me ages!!!Lucky i bought size 4+ last time They might be a little bit more bulky than huggies or pampers, but worked well for us
We loved huggies for John, but Maya was getting rash from them; then John couldn't have pampers as he was getting rash from those
Mary: i lost wire from bra once!It made drum stuck!! It was when I was still at home, lol!

Speaking of washable things, has anyone ever tried washable sanatry towles? Not a mooncup, (what a strange contraption that is), but I saw some on a real nappy website, and wondered how well they'd work with no plastic backing, wouldn't they leak through and stain your knickers? sorry if TMI, and not that I need them yet anyway.

Ive not tried the washable sanitary pads, but i do use the mooncup - and wouldnt use anything else!
Its each to their own with these things, but i happily do my bit for the environment by using it, its really good once you get over the initial horror of it !

i know mums that do use washable pads. Some of them have fleese lining, and it works just like nappy wraps- keeps you feeling dry and stops the leaks.
But as I said: I never used and now I'm AF free thanks to bf and my implant
As for moon cup- in US its called diva cup I believe, and I'v heard lots of good about "this thingy".
