6 week check

Had my 6 week check today, everything fine!
Im going on the mini pill, see how i get on with it (have to be careful with migraines...) She recommended Dave had a vasectomy erm.....thanks, but no thanks! who knows what we will want to do in a few years time? we are only young!
She asked about the BF, and was very knowledgable and supportive. I had a pain yesterday that i think was start of plugged duct, so i'd followed advice off here overnight and it seems to be better today. I mentioned the pain to her, and she immediately said plugged duct and gave me loads of great advice (which id already had off here ).
I can start my excercing again, and im going to go back to diet/aerobics class soon - i have emailed the lady that runs it and she has got me a breastfeeding healthy eating plan ready!
i'm over the moon as i am aready at my pre-pregnancy weight (i had just lost 2 stone), and I am back in my size 10 jeans!

How come I'm not loosing any of mine weight then?

I would give mini pill a lot of thought and look at its effectivness before you decide on anything ( read: it is crap in my personal opinnion; bf itself would give you more protection than mini pill. ) Just my thought :scared:

She did say if we usually have intercourse at night, to take it in the evening, which i thought was strange (and we grab opportunity when we can - morning, afternoon, 4am, lol!)

I took 1st one last night, and have been awake with severe headache since 4am....................hmmmmm....................

I think i will go to the family planning clinic on Thursday. I dont get on with copper coil or depoprova injection, so it would be implant or merina (?) coil.
I know it sounds really vain, but i dont want one that will make me put weight on

Kay, there is a new pill on trial- prog only also, but with 24 hour "take it" slot; give a family planing clinic a call and ask about it;I've only heard that there is something like that, but have no ffedback or information how it is working for reall woman
also implant might sound like it has higher dose of hormones- it doesn't. It work;s much better with much lower dose of hormone because hormone is reliesed steadily during course of the day- so no big "high" like after when you take pill.
But if you've had headaches with implant you will have them with pill probably also.
I wasn't tollerating mini pill or comb pill to well at all, but have no probs with implant.

its not vain at all hun thats what i was worried about too posted it somewhere on here. thats why i just use condoms but i think it only works for us as james was not that bothered about using them in the end. i know some men dont like them and they break xx

The pill didn't effect my weight, the one thing I know does for definate ( though its not a pill ) the marina coild is vile, my friend had it and couldnt loose any weight while on it, though saying that I dont know if you can have it while bfing anyway.

I was really put off by the copper coil, so i wouldnt go for that anyway. im going to go to clinic to speak to them to see what they recommend - they seem more informed than GP!

Ive had a week on the mini pill, and ive decided to come off it.
Ive felt really hormonal, snappy, short tempered blah blah blah.
I am constantly eating crap - biscuits, choc, and my jeans are starting to feel tight.
Besides that, sex life is on a back seat anyway - on the odd occassion we may get, i think a condom will do fine (dont you just love co-sleeping lol!

Just read this and was really jealous as you were back in your size 10's at size weeks, I was a size 10 before Daisy - now I can't get into size 14!!
Anyway, I was reading it thinking I wish I could get back into my 10's then realised maybe I shouldn't be eating this really big bag of maltesers that I've nearly finished!!! :ohdear:

Kay dont have Marina coil if you want to loose weight, its known fact that with it you wont, my freind was on it, put weight on and then could never loose it, she was so depressed.

I cant take anything with hormones in, I react very badly to them, im in a foul mood or upset all the time, so we just used condoms, which worked quite well while breastfeeding still.

I cant believe doc suggested you should get Dave snipped!!

I think it shouldnt be suggested until it was put to them by you guys, im really shocked!


Gem, I didn't get back to a size 10 until recently, Kay is very lucky!!

Though I was guilty too, ate like I was eating for 3, eating for boobs, Oli and myself :haha:

Ive decided not to take anything hormonal,m and we are using condoms - its all going fine!

Ive been REALLY hungry lately, and picking at crap, so Ive put a bit of weight on since 6 week check, but now this nice weathers here im motivated to eat a bit healthier and im excersing more too (well, power walking with buggy, running round park with boys etc )
I think i was one of the lucky few that went straight back to my pp weight - probably because i had been dieting prior to pregnancy, and was quite ill while pg so didnt eat too much. Im making up for it now though :iconredface:

Yes you are lucky wish i could get in a size ten but maybe thats impossible being as i was a 14 before i had her, and i am back in them already.

Still got major jelly belly going on though feel like i have more spare tyres than michellin.

Was thinking of going on mini pill myself when go for my 6week check, booked in next week (will be 7 week actually) not sure what to do know. We wouldnt be that upset if i did get pregnant again so soon just be a shock.
