baby rash
Bethany started developing a rash all over body this morning - its mainly faint but is quite red at the bottom of her back, in her bum cheeks, on her back and a bit on the backs of her legs. Its like little pin pricks. Theres also a couple of bigger spots on her legs.
I also found out that a friends little boy she has been around last week as this week developed chicken pox.
I've booked into the nurse to check her out tomorrow. But in the meantime i went to the chemist to ask his opinion. He said it doesnt look like chicken pox rash that u can get at start of it. It looks more like heat rash! God i feel so thick - first time mummy so i panicked a bit but feel so stupid now!
Should i still take her to the nurse just in case? Or am i being silly?

Re: baby rash
I agree Ange!
Every time I have taken one of mine, it has been heat rash, viral or post-viral.
But the doctors never mind and would rather they be checked.
You could guarantee the time you dont get it checked is the time you should.............

temperature is normal but she's really hot and sweaty. i've had her with nothing on for a few hours. just put her nappy and vest on her now.
She doesnt seem herself at all to be honest. i'm just sat here feeding her now and she's making moaning noises and keeps pulling off crying - being really fussy. this is the 3rd time she's nursed all day. the other 2 times were for a couple of minutes. she's had 2 yoghurts and a bit of brocolli too all day.
Thinking she must be coming down with something!

Re: baby rash
i've took her to the nurse and she said its probably chicken pox - the big spots at least. She looked under magnifying glass and said they look blistery.
On a positive note if they are chicken pox at least she's getting them out of the way!
She seems more herself today. Do you think i'm ok to travel on train with her? I'm suppose be going to my mums today

Re: baby rash
Oh poor little mite! :aww:
Apparantly they are much better to have them younger though!
I wish mine would get them actually, during summer hols!
The stage for others to catch it is the 2 weeks prior to the spots coming out so Jamies teacher informs me.
Personally - i would still travel providing she is fit and well in herself - but that is my personal opinion. Did the nurse say anything about keeping her away from other people?
