Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Well I work 8:30am until 3pm, 5 days a week. I don't express when I am out (I don't have the time) I express first thing in the morning before I leave for work, and first thing when I come home as well as feeding lil miss when I come in... On the days that I am not working I can still feed her during the time when I should be working, without any difficulties. Smile

As you are still fully breastfeeding you may have some issues, but as it's only 3 days a week and I gather will be uni hours, rather than a full working 8 hours, I don't think you should worry too much.. Just make sure you express upon leaving and returning home. Smile Oh and drink a lot Smile

Awww hun, I think your making the right descision, it would only cause you upset if it were going to affect your breastfeeding relationship, at least you will still be able to learn in the evenings xxx

Well, I wouldn't have thought it would mess your supply up if you only choose to BF at night times completely. Your milk supply would just decrease and adapt for night times only.

In fact BFG at night times is the best time to ensure you have a milk supply, b/c that's when the level of the prolaction hormone rises.

It's actually harder and longer than you think to lose your milk supply completely. But your milk supply would be a bit confused if you were only BFG on certain days in the day time in the week. I would pump on the days you are away at college.
