Corey drinking LOADS!!

The last few weeks, Corey is constantly asking for a drink, or 'ooooosh' as he calls it!

I always have drinks handy (water, dilute cordial or dilute fruit juice etc) but he is drinking loads!

Tonight for example, he has had the equivelent of a pint of water before bed! (this is on top of what he has drunk all day!)
he will also help himself to his drink through the night, and its the 1st thing he asks for when waking.

His nappies are soaking, so its obviously going through well, and his appetite is normal.

Do you think this is normal? should i mention to the HV? I dont remember the others drinking this much!

What does he gets? How about giving him only a drink he likes less?
and yeah, I'd mention it, but it could be connected with him being off the boob etc. x

i thought about that, cos he used to just pop on and off boob all day, so i was never quite sure what he was having - i guess i have more of a visual as to what he is drinking now!

I will try and give him plain water more, as he prefers juice.

i've noticed since Daisy has cut down on the boob, she is drinking loooooads too!

maybe booby is more thirst quenching??

even Dave has commented on how much he is drinking! There is a HV clinic in the village tomorrow, so might just pop along and see what she says.

Speak to the HV. Frequent urination with increased thirst can be a sign of either a urine infection or diabetes. How is his weight? Is he more tired than normal? does he have dry, itch skin at all?.

Either way, a simple dip stick test will give you more idea as to what is wrong. It's just a PITA to get pee out of babies still in nappies... Ask me how I know this... *sigh*

he has always been a chunky monkey - still is. he doesnt seem any more tired although he is sleeping well through the night now.
He does have dry skin, but then Jamie has excema, so always put it down to this....

I will be going in the morning, so will see what she says

My eldest son was a drinker like that but i never though much of it, i'd say it's normal, James would drink 4 pints of milk and god knows how much juicy he'd have when he was a tot but now i have a nightmare trying to get him to drink enough lol i'd mention it to your hv and encorage him to drink water for some reason i was told chldren don't like water much (james would drink it by the gallons lol) he could be drinking so much out of confort now you have weened him off the breast?

my elder 2 prefer water or milk to anything else!
Corey likes cold milk, but does love his juice! Im putting water in his night time drinks now, so see how he goes with that.

Olivia did exactly the same when we finished bfing, she drank like a fish!

If he's not loosing lots of weight then its unlikely to be diabetes so that's a good sign Smile
