Feeling so down...
I wasn't too sure where to put this but I've been starting to write this for a few days now.
My hormones must be all over the place at the minute as I feel so down it's unbelievable
I'm assuming it is because Brody has suddenly dropped to just having his bedtime milk and everything is going 'back to normal' as such! I still haven't had a period but the way I am feeling it aint gonna be long!
The last few days have been terrible I just feel like crying all the time
What makes me most upset is before I fell prgnant with Brody I suffered from depression and was so scared of getting PND so I have been so glad I didn't suffer from it. Now I am starting to feel like I did before I fell pregnant :tear:
Please tell me this is all normal when brestfeeding is coming to an end!

Re: Feeling so down...
Hunny :aww:
When Oli stopped breastfeeding, my hormones were everywhere!! it was horrible, I was moody felt I had no use anymore and that if I went tomorrow knowone woud even be botherd, because I had done my bit and wasn't needed, I felt very low.
I haven't told anyone that not even my OH.
I know exactly what you mean, the only way I coped with it is to look at what I had done and concetrated on doing other great things for Oli that we may have not done before.
You never stop caring and your life with or without breastfeedng will never be the same, so many other milestones to accomplish

Re: Feeling so down...
:aww: it is very normal to feel this way.
It is all due to hormones (they have alot to answer for)
A hormone called Prolactin is involved in breastfeeding it also makes you feel happy and relaxed. When your baby cuts down on breastfeeding the level of this hormone drops and you can feel very low.
Even if you want to wean and have done it gradually feelings of loss are normal . You have reached the end of one part of your journey together but started a new phase. You are needed just as much just in different ways.
Brody may keep having his one feed for quite a while but you may like to think about marking the occasion in some way when you do stop feeding? MAybe a tea party with some supportive friends to mark the occasion of his weaning and celebrate your achievement in feeding him so long and to welcome the next stage of your relationship?
:aww:

Re: Feeling so down...
Thanks so much for the replies! :aww:
Tasha it's like you have read my mind! I have been feeling like I'm not needed anymore especially as Kev has had a week off work and insisted I stay in bed and generally taking over alot (bless him) But then Brody will come and give me a big hug and a sloppy kiss and I feel guilty for even feeling down in the first place! It's crazy how much hormones can affect the way you think and feel! Hope you are feeling better now! :aww:
I feel a little better already having got it out!
Nichola thanks alot :aww: That idea is lovely and I think it will help alot when the time comes! ( I don't think he will drop this last bedtime feed for a while yet though! )

Well I was right! Everything has gone back to normal! Having the worst 'time of the month' ever! It's quite a shock after 2 years! :pml:
