Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times

So we did them with John will he was 1 y old.
Then with Maya for few weeks, then we went back to sposies, then again to cloth and back to sposies.
So, now we are trully back to cloth nappies cheers
I'm so proud of myself!

We do wraps and prefolds and my design pads;
And no leaks! /even after poop/

I used them with Hannah till my washing machine broke down when she was 4 months old and to be totally honest I hated them. I could never get them to fold properly and she ended up with poo running down her legs.

I know they are better for the enviroment but disposables are so much easier for me.

Good on you for using cloth I am hanging my head in shame Embarassed

I wanted to use them with Emily but somehow we never did . I tried again with Sophie but never really got going.

This time I was determined to try again and It has been much more succesful. Jack is in cloth about 90% of the time. We have tots bots shaped ones with mother ease wraps and I am very impressed no leaks yet!

We have a lady coming to our breastfeeding support group tomorrow who sells cloth nappies.

i did with oz when he was small up until he started crawling! they were the old fashioned type- it was 15 yrs ago and there wasnt much choice! with my youngest 2 ive tried to use as environmentally friendly ones as poss i keep swapping and changing (depends whats cheapest or on offer at the time! Embarassed ) some are biodegradable and some non bleached etc, surprisingly soft n comfy. th middle two didnt spend much time in nappies they seemed to preferr beng naked!! ive only tried one type of the washable ones and aeryn wasnt comfy she didnt seem to move her legs v well. i suppose there so much choice now its just trial and error to what suits mama n babe best?

Exactly, Ang.
As I said we did full year with John, but with Maya I just had not enough time and tbh washing machine was working every day anyway, hehe.
Now when she is older and we have better routine we will give it a go!

I managed not to spend any money!( my weakness is slings atm!)

There are lots of different kinds of washable nappy available now I found it quite confusing tbh.

What I found helpful was talking to other mums who used them and then just bought a few to try first to make sure I liked them.

It helped that our council run a money back scheme so you get part of the cost back so it wasn't such a big gamble.

I used tots bots and motherease, (2nd hand off ebay but still worked great) till about 9 months i think when Rhi grew out of them, but have just got back into real nappies. I was realy lucky, a mum on a cloth nappy forum I was asking advice on offered me a whole load of AiO's for the price of the postage, and they are great. Esp now she has solid poo's, just flush that down the loo, and do one extra wash every 3 or 4 days, apart from that they're just the same as disposables.
